In this task I will be generating
a concept for a suite of three idents and make sure each ident is suitable to
use at different time, day or year. I will mind map a selection of potential
theme ideas and choose my finale theme and explain why it is suitable for the
CBeebies channel and why it would appeal to the target audience.

Themes
The First theme is numbers. I
have chosen numbers because the channel that my ident will be airing is
CBeebies, so using numbers will be appropriate to the audience of the channel
which are aged between 1-5. Also because the theme is numbers, it will help the
audience to educate theme in a form of which they will not feel board. I have
thought of this theme because the CBeebies channel is representing fun and
learning, so having a number theme will fit into that category. The number
theme can be adjusted to a different type of senior meaning, the numbers theme could
take place on a beach where they are swimming, in a school where they are
learning or in a playground where they are running around. It can adjust because
the number itself is meant to represent the channel, so the number senior can
be changed to anything that it childish. The number theme can be adapted to any time
and season depending on the senior. For example as I said about the senior
being that the numbers are in the park, playing with each other. If it was winter,
that senior could be adapted to current season, rather you will see the numbers
playing with each other in the snow and depending on the current time, the
numbers could be playing in the morning or night.
The second theme is based around
fire fighters. I have chosen fire fighters because they represent to be hero’s
to children, which is the audience to the channel my ident will be airing on. This
theme will be appropriate for the audience of CBeebies which are children aged
between 1-5 because as I said before fire fighters are seen as hero’s to the
younger age, so having a fire fighters theme would inspire theme to be like,
brave, bold, kind, gentle etc. Also another reason it will be appropriate to
the audience is because the senior will not show disturbing images to the children,
like people getting burned or people dying. The theme senior can be changed
from the fire fighters going down a polo and running in to the truck, to them
getting rewards from higher people or to them getting a cat down from a tree. The
senior can easily be changed and it still can be appropriate. Just like the
number theme the senior of the fire fighters can be adapted to current season,
day and year. So we can have the fire fighters getting a cat down a tree while
it is snowing at night, if the ident is showing at night in winter or the fire
fighters are getting a reward in a summer festival if the current time has something
to do with it.
Third theme is around shapes. I
have chosen shapes because it is kind of the same as the number theme. Which is
learning theme because is displays basic numbers that children easy pick up. So
for this theme I will use the same principle but with a different learning topic.
As shapes is a topic in maths, this theme will help the audience to understand
the basic of topic and help them in the future. But rather then teaching it to
them it would be put in a senior that they will be able to laugh about and have
fun seeing it. As the channel is CBeebies, this theme will be appropriate to
the audience, as it will be providing a learning experience in it. Just like
the others the theme senior can be changed from shapes running around in the
park, to playing board games, or to them fitting the right shape slot. Again
just like the other themes the senior of the shapes can be adapted to current
season, day and year. So if it was winter, we would have the shapes playing board
game inside a house, right next a fire, while it is snowing outside or if it was
summer we could have them swimming near the beach.
Fourth theme is animals. I have chosen
animals as a theme because it will fit well for the audience of CBeebies. As
the target audience is children aged between 1-5, having an animal theme is a
good idea as, children love see different types of animals. Also the CBeebies channels
have programmes on animal wild life, so having a theme of it could relate it a
specific content. This theme is appropriate the audience as it will show how
animals are cute and the different types of animals. Also the theme will not display
disturbing images of animals eating each other. They are many senior that can
happen with animal, because of the number of animals there are. There are frost,
jungle, amazon, woodland, farm, and zoo animals. But because the audience are children,
the senior would probably stick to farm and zoo animals because that is most
come animals we see. The senior could be that the farm animal could be running
around the farm or the dog could be keeping an eye on them. For the zoo animal
it could be that you would see different animal in their made environment. Again
just like the other themes the senior of the animals can be adapted to current
season, day and year. So if it was night, you could see the zoo animals
sleeping or having a party.
The theme that I am choosing for
my suite of idents is the number theme. This is because it will help the
audience to educate theme in a form of which they will not feel board and displays
basic numbers that children easy pick up. Number is a topic in maths, this
theme will help the audience to understand the basic of topic and help them in
the future. This theme is suitable for CBeebies audience because the CBeebies
channel is representing fun and learning, so having a number theme will fit
into that category as they senior can be changed to attract the audience. Also it
will be providing a learning experience in it. This theme will appeal to children
because we can adapted to make the numbers look and sound fun. Also by having good
tunes, it will appeal to children because they will remember it because the
sound on it is catchy.
