AS2 Blog 8 - Finished Ident

In this task I have completed my Ident

AS2 Blog 7 - Be able to produce a television ident to a brief

In task I will be explaining how I made my ident. I will include a record of my progress as I work on the ident with notes, photographs and screen grab. Also what skill I have used in making and editing my ident. 


First I drew the numbers, sun and the CBeebies latters on the paper cardboard, and then I cut it out. After I did the same for the grass and cut it out. Next I had to put the grass and the sun onto my background. Then I set up my camera and started to take picture of my ident, slowly, slowly moving the sun, numbers and the CBeebies to the fix potions. After I finished I uploaded it up to the computer. Then I put it in Premiere Pro and edited it.  Last I uploaded it onto my blog.

  • ·  I will produce and ident for the CBeebies channel
  • ·  The target audience will be children aged between 1-5
  • ·  It will be created using stop motion pictures
  • ·  This ident starts off with a white background with field of grass.
  • ·  Then slowly, slowly the suns comes in from the right top hand corner and starts to get bigger and bigger as it is coming closer to the grass.
  • ·  Then the sun fits in a fix position and the numbers starts to come down.
  • ·  The three comes down from the top, the one comes from the left side and the two comes from the right side.
  • ·  Eventually they will all meet and they will be in a random order. So they start to jump over each other to get in the right order.
  • ·  Then once they are in order, the CBeebies logo comes down from the top and it ends.
  • ·  The ident will be put together by using Adobe Premiere Pro.

AS2 Blog 5 - Designing the Suite

In this task I will be explain my three final ideas and say why they are suitable for CBeebies, how they will appeal to the children and what time of day and year they have been designed for. Also show the Story board.  


I have chosen Numbers as my theme for my suite of three idents. I have deliberately chosen this theme because it will appeal to target audience because it is a simple idea, which children will easily notice and it will give the younger children educational experience. The Numbers is the key element that will connect the idents to make it a suite and throughout the three idents the Numbers will used differently. The audience will notice that the idents are connected because they all use the same numbers.

General idea


Idea 1
This ident starts off with a white background with field of grass. Then slowly, slowly the suns comes in from the right top hand corner and starts to get bigger and bigger as it is coming closer to the grass. Then the sun fits in a fix position and the numbers starts to come down. The three comes down from the top, the one comes from the left side and the two comes from the right side. Eventually they will all meet and they will be in a random order. So they start to jump over each other to get in the right order. Then once they are in order, the CBeebies logo comes down from the top and it ends.

I came up with this idea by first thinking where should I locate this ident, meaning on the beach, school, park etc. I first chose to set this ident in the park but I changed my mind and set it on field because it would more clearly and easier to see as they will be no obstacles in the way.  After that, I decided that the ident will take place in the day with a bright sun. I chose simple numbers like one, two and three because it will be easier for the audience to understand and have the numbers coming in different directions. The colours of the numbers will be pink, blue and green. One will be green, two will be blue and three will be pink. The season is representing summer as it shows a clear sky and a bright sun. The sound that I will use for this ident will be the sound of the CBeebies idents which is at the end and sounds of birds and sun shine.


There are many reason that this ident will be suitable for the CBeebies. First is regulation, this ident does not break any regulation that be been set up by the ASA and does not show any actions of plagiarisms. Also the content does not display any inappropriate images that will disturb the audience or inflict bad ideas to them. Second is that this ident has been tailored to the CBeebies channel. So we see the numbers acting like the blobs in the other CBeebies ident. Third is that this ident will appeal to the target audience because the ident uses simple numbers to make it look fun and attractive, also providing a learning experience. Another reason why this ident will appeal to audience is because of its similar lay out to the other ident, meaning just like how the other idents have been laid out with the CBeebies logo coming in at the end and the blobs jumping around. The numbers jumping over each other and the CBeebies logo comes at the end. This will appeal to the audience as they would be familiar to this layout, unlike if it was an unknown one to them. 



Idea 2
This ident starts off with a black background with curved field of grass. Just like the first ident slowly, slowly the moon comes in from the right bottom hand corner and starts to get bigger and bigger as it is coming closer to the sky. When it reaches the other side, it stops and fits in a fix position and stars start to follow it, until they are surrounding it. Then the numbers start to come from the right hand side and make their way to the left. This time the numbers are in order, but the number one comes first, then comes second followed by third. Then they align themselves and one by one they start to jump over the fence until they reach the other side. After they align themselves in order again but they a curved just like the field. Finally the CBeebies logo come flying in from the right side, followed by a shooting star. In the end the CBeebies logo is under the moon.

I came up with this idea by first thinking of the location, just like the first ident. I have based the location on a curved field because it goes will with the ident senior. The ident is based at night, as this ident is a night time ident and just like curved field, this is a part of the senior.  Same as the first ident, I chose simple numbers like one, two and three because it will be easier for the audience to understand and I have kept the colours of the numbers same, so pink, blue and green. One will be green, two will be blue and three will be pink. There is no particular season representing the ident, but the ident will be aired near night to represent the time of sleeping to the audience. The sound I will use for this ident will be nature at night, CBeebies, wind and shooting stars. I will use these sound because they all help create a night senior ident.

Second reason is same as the first ident, which is that this ident has been tailored to the CBeebies channel. So the ident won’t show anything that the CBeebies don’t won’t to show. Also the time frame of the ident will be cut down to time that CBeebies gives it. Third is that this ident will appeal to the target audience because the ident uses simple numbers to make it look fun and attractive, also providing a learning experience. Another reason is that the senior of this ident is counting numbers, just like counting sheep’s at night, this ident changes to be counting numbers. Therefore this ident will be appealing to the audience as it will catch their eye in the difference of numbers and sheep’s 




Idea 3
This ident starts off with a park covered with snow and currently snowing background. Then a snowman comes from the leaf side the wearing a Christmas hat and the number one comes from the right side wearing a red Christmas hat. The snowman and the number one get together, than number two comes parachuting down and crash landings on top of number one. Then number one gets anger and chases number two around the snowman. After number one catches number two, all three go into sock when they see number three parachuting on top of Christmas tree. When number three lands all four of them surround the tree and sit down next to it.

I came up with this idea by first thinking of the location. I based this ident location in the park because it is wide open area and it allows me to do more and add more effect like the snow coming down. The ident is going to be in the day time but, because it is snowing it would look like it is going to be night. Same as the first and second ident, I chose simple numbers like one, two and three because it will be easier for the audience to understand and I have kept the colours of the numbers same, so pink, blue and green. One will be green, two will be blue and three will be pink. Also in this ident I added a snowman with red hat and the number one has a red hat too. The season is winter representing Christmas which is the senior. The sound that I will use for this ident will be laughter, snowfall, bells and CBeebies sound.

Third is that this ident will appeal to the target audience because the ident uses simple numbers to make look fun and attractive, also providing a learning experience. Another reason is that the senior of this ident is Christmas, which every children love to celebrate, so having a Christmas ident will get them inspired and ready for Christmas.





The ident I have chosen to create is the first ident. This is because it will be less difficult to create and design. Also the senior keeps it simple, which helps because, some children might not understand the ident, like two year olds.
